The Storyteller

This was one of my favorite costumes to work on! Part of my responsibilities in pre-production for Ghost of Yotei was to do historical textile research for the character visual development of the game. I fell in love with the sashiko and boro embroidering processes that were common in the Edo period. The jacket is comprised of several different types of fabric which really make our detail map feature of our shaders shine. I used these materials to enhance our team's smart material library for use across many other assets in the game. His backpack jibberish is full of a lot of fun easter eggs ;)
